Composer, Orchestrator & Conductor
Samuel Read is a British composer, orchestrator, and conductor for film and television. He is currently working with the composer and orchestrator Ben Foster and in this role has contributed to productions including BBC’s Happy Valley, Good Omens, and Greatest Days. Separately, Samuel has also worked as an orchestrator on films including M3gan and Argylle.
As an arranger, Samuel has worked with acclaimed American pianist Chloe Flower on her latest album Chloe Hearts Christmas and on Disney’s live orchestra show The Sound of Magic. In addition to this, Samuel has conducted for projects including ITV’s Ridley and The Book of Clarence at AIR Studios in London.
Samuel graduated from Durham University in 2021 with a BA in Music, and then completed an MA in Composing for Film and Television at the National Film and Television School. Upon graduation from NFTS he received the Avid Excellence in Composing award.
